Taking as a starting point the works that have been created during the 8-month Colors & Minds workshop, beneficiaries of the EPAPSY "Franco Basaglia" Day Center, students of the Art and Psychotherapy Center, students of the Athens School of Fine Arts (Performance Workshop, under the Direction of the visual artist and Associate Professor Georgia Sagri) and SKEP’s Head of Communication with Mainstream and Special Education Schools, Irene Trombeta, utilized elements which they turned into concepts and then transcribed them into movement, in order to create a performance, which will be recorded on video and presented in May together with the other artworks of the workshop. In this way, each participant was able to explore the potential of their body, unlock themselves and connect non-verbally and creatively with the rest of the group.

Colors & Minds is an experiential artistic programme aiming to raise awareness for young people in the psychosocial sector. It is co-organised by EMST Athens, SKEP, Epapsy and the voluntary artistic initiative Talks & Crafts by Marina Tsironi.

The sixth meeting of the experiential artistic programme Colors & Minds was realized on Thursday, March 07th, in EMΣΤ’s art workshop.

Inspired by the thoughts and journeys of the heroes that the participants of the program created during the previous meetings, four different versions of mannequins were made, inspired by Vlassis Kaniaris’ “Hopscotch”. In this meeting, the postgraduate students of the Athens School of Fine Arts, Shekine Naidi, Christina-Sylvia Simantira, Dimitris Geroukalis (under the Director of Postgraduate Visual Arts, Visual Artist and Professor of Art, Marios Spiliopoulos) and SKEP’s Head of Communication with Mainstream and Special Education Schools, Irene Trombeta, collaborated with the beneficiaries of EPAPSY and the postgraduate students of the Art and Psychotherapy Center.

It was with great pleasure that we accepted the invitation of the "Pisina" Nursery School to an online discussion with parents. Dimitra Kontova, SKEP's Inclusion & Accessibility Consultant, had the opportunity to share with them her daily life as a wheelchair user, to talk about the concepts of accessibility and inclusion as well as to answer all their questions.

The Education team of ICC Women Hellas organized an interactive event on the topic of S.T.E.A.M  (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) in Education.  Its aim was to raise awareness regarding S.T.E.A.M. and New Technologies, as well as the necessity for this method to be open and accessible to all.

The event which took place on Wednesday, January 31st, 2024, in the packed Theater of the "O Platon" Schools was a great success!

SKEP's president Ms. Athena Kritikou participated as a speaker, on the topic "Inclusive Education: A School for All Children".

Colors & Minds... Beyond creativity and visual effect, art leads us to a world friendly to all.

The fifth workshop of the experiential artistic programme Colors & Minds that aims in raising awareness in the psychosocial sector for young people was realized on Thursday, February 1st. Epapsy beneficiaries, students of the Athens School of Fine Arts Masters Degree, postgraduate students of the Art and Psychotherapy Center, along with Irene Trombeta, SKEP’s Head of Communication with Mainstream and Special Education Schools, studied the structure of the mannequins in V. Caniaris’ "Hopscotch", and then created their own mannequin versions inspired by the hero that each group had built in previous meetings.

Each Master Degree student introduced themselves through one of their artworks proposing a basic material of their artistic practice around which each group constructed their mannequins. Through the assimilation of a seemingly external element and its integration in the creative process, the participants gave a new meaning to their artistic collaboration.

Τhe fourth workshop of the experiential artistic program Colors & Minds that aims in raising awareness in the psychosocial sector for young people was realized on Thursday January 11.

Colors & Minds is co-organized by EMST Athens, ΣΚΕΠ - SKEP, Epapsy - Association for Regional Development and Mental Health and the voluntary artistic initiative Talks & Crafts by Marina Tsironi.

Each of the participating groups, consisting of EPAPSY beneficiaries as well as people from the general population –students of the 9th Painting Workshop of A.S.K.T. (professor Nikos Navridis), postgraduate students of the Art and Psychotherapy, along with SKEP's President (Athena Kritikou) and SKEP's Communication Director (Ileana Vasdeki)– created their own luggage. All luggage carry the emotions of a fictional hero, the personality traits of whom the respective team had built up in previous workshops.

The construction of the luggage and the inclusion of personal items in them allowed the members of the groups to express personal feelings "through the mouth" of the four heroes. Interpreting the symbols that their luggage carried, the participants spoke –indirectly and directly– about what they tried to convey as creators, concluding that: “by seeing art as a game we can connect with the artwork, our co-creators , but much more with our own self".

Colors & Minds is jointly organized by the following entities: the National Museum of Contemporary Art Athens (ΕΜΣΤ), the Association of Social Responsibility for Children and Youth (SKEP), the Association for Regional Development and Mental Health (EPAPSY) and the voluntary artistic initiative Talks & Crafts created by Marina Tsironi.

"Immigration", "journey", "curiosity", "sadness" – these are some of the images and feelings expressed by the participants at the third meeting of Colors & Minds in front of Vlassis Caniaris’ work Hopscotch (1974).

Afterwards, small groups consisting of members from EPAPSY (Association for Regional Development and Mental Health), students of the 9th Painting Workshop of Nikos Navridis, as well as postgraduate students of the Art and Psychotherapy Center began to construct their own "luggage", which conveys the feelings and thoughts of the heroes that they created in the first two meetings. As the participants mentioned, "each piece of luggage is a look 'inside the head' of the protagonists".

Colors & Minds is an experiential artistic program raising awareness in the psychosocial sector for young people. 

It is jointly organized by the following entities: the National Museum of Contemporary Art Athens (ΕΜΣΤ), the Association of Social Responsibility for Children and Youth (SKEP), the Association for Regional Development and Mental Health (EPAPSY) and the voluntary artistic initiative Talks & Crafts created by Marina Tsironi.

SKEP and Black Light Athens implemented an Inclusion & Accessibility Training for volunteers at  Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center so that they could be familiarized with the concept of disability, accessibility and an inclusive mindset.

In October 2023, SKEP's executives with and without disabilities were hosted at MSD Greece's accessible facilities to inform employees about the daily life and rights of people living with a disability, but also about the concepts of accessibility and inclusiveness.
