With George Stathis
When a deaf person reaches a counter and tries to be served, very often the hearing person answers in english!
George Stathis has been working as a professional Sign Language Interpreter since 2013. He is the founder and CEO of the Social Company HandsUp Agency, the first SLI Agency in Greece, counting numerous innovation and entrepreneurship awards since 2017.
As an interpreter, writer and as a person, George Stathis is a bridge of communication between the hearing and the deaf. He conveys to us images, snapshots and interesting experiences of a world he loves and respects, aiming to approach another everyday life, one which many of us do not know. However, another aspect of his personality is his love for writing. In October 2019, he published his first literary work entitled "The 7th Descendant and the Twin Gems" by Hydroplano publications. He tells us all about his book, his heroine Thalia and his deaf protagonist, Kimon.
